Frequently asked questions
Why follow macro data?
Fed rates, inflation, bond yields and liquidity determine how much money flows into risky assets. Stocks and cryptocurrencies often react to them more sharply than to company news.
Where does the data come from?
From public sources: FRED (the St. Louis Fed), the US Treasury and CME fed funds futures prices via Yahoo Finance. We do the calculations (FedWatch probabilities, liquidity impulse, MACD) ourselves and say so on each page.
