Bitcoin on-chain activity
How many addresses and transactions use the Bitcoin network each day, and how that changes.
Data as of 22 Oct 2026
The number of active addresses changed by 1.3% against the average of the previous 30 days, and the number of transactions by 0.3%. When price rises without growth in network usage, it is often speculation on exchanges. When both rise, the trend is healthier.
The numbers are rough: one user or exchange uses many addresses and part of the transactions are generated automatically.

Addresses with a non-zero balance

Frequently asked questions
What are active addresses?
The number of different addresses that sent or received bitcoin during a day. It is not the number of people: one person or an exchange uses many addresses, but the long-term trend shows how much the network is used.
Do more transactions mean a higher price?
Not necessarily. The number of transactions is also affected by new protocols built on Bitcoin and by waves of spam. It is a measure of network usage, not a price forecast.
Why a 30-day average?
Daily numbers swing a lot and are lower on weekends. A 30-day average smooths the noise and shows the real trend.
